Aside from this new painting being posted, following is some great info for collectors and artists. This is the second painting of the first snowfall where I live in N.C.: First Light 2 20×24 in. Acrylic on Linen Had lunch the other day with a conservator at the NC Museum of Art…one of the top places on the East Coast for art conservation. Also was treated to a tour of the conservation studio. I knew this but did not think much of it – artists long ago (and even some today), used to paint; then either finish (or sometimes do the whole painting) with the frame over the piece. Interesting? Yes. Why? Why would someone paint with the frame around the painting while they are working? JUST A FEW WEEKS AGO, it snowed here in central N.C. It was wonderful to see children playing who had never even seen snow before. This piece is from the morning after the fall as the sun was rising up to hit chilled grasses. Enjoy! Waiting to Serve 14×18 in. Oil on Linen I’m thrilled to say that this shrimp boat has sold.
